Sonic turrets are a variant of Terran automated and semi-automated defenses.
Applying similar principles as the sonic cleanser, they project a burst of sonic energy to repulse most small to medium sized targets. Capable of blasting off the carapace of a Mutalisk, these weapons are effective in scattering swarms of enemies.
Unfortunately, their effectiveness is reduced against more heavily armored targets such as Wraiths. Another drawback worth noting is that turrets require large amounts of energy, so prolonged usage can quickly drain most systems of the vehicle its attached to.
