Positronic circuitry is a type of Protoss technology used in both robotic and cybernetic enhancement.
This artificial matrix mimics the thought patterns of biological minds with the added bonus of near lightspeed processing time. Upgrading robotic drones with this technology increases their intelligence to slightly above animalistic levels. When in combat, upgraded drones can learn and react to situations comparable to psionic warriors with a basic understanding of precognition.
While some are weary of using these upgrades, the need for greater robotic support after the Brood War overrode most of these complaints.
